EURS
Stasis Euro went from afterthought to contender because MiCA regulation cleared the field and EURS was already compliant — Malta MFSA licensed, BDO Malta audited, with 100% of reserves in euro balances at licensed European institutions including Central Bank accounts. The C- safety grade at 52 and active depeg trading over 800 basis points above its euro peg tell a more complicated story: 2,694 depeg events (712 in the four-year window) and a peg score of 38 make EURS one of the most frequently depegged stablecoins on the dashboard, with volatility that reflects both thin DEX liquidity and the challenge of maintaining an EUR peg against a dollar-denominated reference. The irony is that EURS's explosive growth happened not because the product changed, but because competitors got disqualified under MiCA. The looming threat is a consortium of European banks planning their own MiCA-compliant euro stablecoins, which would bring the kind of distribution and liquidity depth that Stasis cannot match.
