USD1
World Liberty Financial's USD1 arrived with the Trump family brand and proved that political controversy does not prevent a stablecoin from functioning: 100% very-low-risk reserves in T-bills, money market funds, and cash, custodied by BitGo under a South Dakota trust charter. The irony is structural — USD1 is, by the numbers, a perfectly conventional stablecoin with impeccable reserves and a near-perfect peg score, indistinguishable from any Paxos or Circle product except for the name on the letterhead. Supply has contracted by double digits recently, suggesting that the initial burst of politically motivated minting is unwinding as holders discover that USD1 earns no yield and has thinner DEX liquidity than competitors half its size. Whether the brand is an asset or a liability depends on which side of the political aisle you mint from, but the B safety grade suggests the product itself is unremarkable in the best possible way.
